Executive Committee
Chairman – Bill Haywood
Bill is Teresa’s husband. Bill and Teresa have been married for 27 years. They both grew up in and around San Antonio, Texas. They have two sons who are both married. He is a graduate of East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions. He has made numerous mission trips to Latin America and Europe. He directs the Spring Teen Retreat at High Rock Bible Camp and teaches at the Tri-Cities School of Preaching and Christian Development. He began preaching in 1979 and moved to Knoxville TN in 1990 to attend East Tennessee School of Preaching. Bill, and Teresa have lived in Abingdon, Virginia since 1996 when they began their work with the Abingdon Church of Christ.
Vice Chairman – Adam Horn
Adam is married to Beth (12 years) and together they have two wonderful children – Carter and Kendra. He is a 2003 graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching in Memphis, TN. He has a background in Law Enforcement. Adam teaches classes at the Tri-Cities School of Preaching and Christian Development and he is actively involved with High Rock Bible Camp. He has made several mission trips to Arusha,Tanzania. He has been in Lebanon for five years.
Treasury – Steve Canup
Steve is an Alumnus of Freed-Hardeman University ('77-'79); Worked in business management for 24 years. Graduate of TCSOP ('04-'06). Son of a Gospel preacher; Full time minister for the Fort Chiswell church of Christ since May 2006. Married to former Lanita Mae Beecher, 3 children, son who is also Gospel preacher, 2 grandchildren.
Assistant Treasury – Morris Witten
Morris Witten serves as the assistant treasurer. Before his retirement, Morris served in Wythe County Public Schools for 23 years. He serve six years as the school superintendent for Bland County ('89-'95) prior to retiring.
Secretary – Dennis L. Curd
Dennis L. Curd was born in Union, South Carolina. He has been married to Sandra Jean for thirty one years, and they have two children. Their daughter, Jennifer, is married to Shawn Sprouse, and they live in Roanoke, VA where she is a housewife and mother. Jennifer and Shawn are the parents of two sons, Nathan, and Andrew. Their son, Justin, is a student at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, VA. Dennis has a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from Auburn University (1977). He is also a 1988 graduate of the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions. He has done local preaching in Phenix City, Alabama, and in Christiansburg, Virginia where he has lived and worked for the last eleven years. He has done mission work in Ukraine, having made seven trips to that country.
