The Purposed Federal Legislation
Freedom of Choice Act

·        Summary of FOCA.
Ø All informed consent laws would be overturned.
Ø All parental notification laws would be nullified.
Ø All laws requiring a waiting period before abortion would be eliminated.
Ø The Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 would be reversed.
Ø The Hyde Amendment, which restricts taxpayer funding of abortions, would be reversed.
Ø Religiously affiliated hospitals would be forced to either perform abortions.
Ø Military hospitals would now be required to provide abortion procedures.
Ø Health insurance for federal employees would have to cover abortion.
Ø Doctors, nurses, and hospitals that conscientiously object to abortion would no longer be protected from lawsuits.
Fighting For Life In The 9th
Our mission is very narrow.
 Our mission is to educate and energize the citizens of the 9th congressional district of Virginia regarding the proposed federal legislation known as the Freedom of Choice Act, in order to persuade Congressman Boucher to withdraw his sponsorship and support of the FOCA and to convince him to oppose this purposed legislation.
 The organization is a 501 (c) (4) guided by an executive committee of five individuals.  We have no paid staff.  All funds are used to raise awareness and educate the citizens of the 9th congressional district of Virginia. 
 Organizational Accomplishments
·        Thousands of signatures in our petition campaign opposing FOCA (still under way)
·        Produced two original TV commercials.
·        Five day TV commercial blitz leading up to and during the presidential inauguration.
·        Information meetings held all across district 9.
·        Informative website (www.ffL9.com).
·        Organizing grassroots base that can be mobilized.
